Barry Laurie leads the firm's Tax
Consultancy department, and is a recognised expert in his field.
A Chartered Accountant who also happens to have a first class honours degree in Chemistry, he joined McCabes in 1992 having gained considerable experience in senior tax positions with 'big five' firms and also with the Inland Revenue.
Laurie's department provides corporate and tax planning services for clients in all sectors across the UK but has particular expertise in the hospitality and hotels, property and care homes areas as well as looking after the needs of a large number of high net worth individuals.
He and his team like to take the initiative on behalf of clients, actively seeking opportunities to reduce their tax burdens and creating fresh solutions to the tax problems they face. He places a high priority on 'hands on' personal service to clients and takes a keen interest in arranging tax incentives for entrepreneurial companies and their investors.
Laurie is Chairman of the Tax committee of the British Association of Hospitality Accountants (BAHA) and is a Trustee and Honorary Treasurer of Hospitality Industry Trust (HIT) Scotland.
